Every three weeks, the students will focus on two reading skills. Skills include making connections, main idea, asking questions, cause & effect, etc. During each unit, we will add websites and printable activities you can use at home to help your child master these skills.
Citing Text Evidence
In fourth grade, students are expected to think about a text at a higher level. Very few questions students encounter will be answered by locating the answer directly in the text. At this point, students are learning how to create an answer using evidence or clues from the author. Students are expected to reason using the information the author gives us. You can practice these types of questions by clicking HERE.
